Join Bivolita for a concert with special guests Julie Asuma Levene, and the Hamden Klezmer Duo Brian Slattery and Adam Matlock. The program will explore the interconnection between cultures that helped to develop the instrumental klezmer repertoire to an exceptional level of musical development and virtuosic expression, particularly in the “southern” Ashkenazic region. We will also explore the concept of “skotshne” and the “skotshne state of mind” which is a musical expression of honor within the community.
