Fast Facts

Where: Whitneyville Creative Commons—1253 Whitney Ave., Hamden, CT 06517

When: Mon, Tues. or Weds. evening 7-9pm dates TBD

Who: Intermediate and up musicians interested in Ashkenazic Jewish dance music.

How Much: $25/ea. or $100/5;  students $20/ea. or $80/5.

Sessions: 1) Freylekhs; 2) Slow Hora; 3) Bulgar; 4) Khosidl; 5) Capstone.

What: Sessions will include 5 components: 1) advance materials; 2) listening; 3) learning the dance steps; 4) playing; 5) playing and dancing.

Beyond the Workshop: The Klezmer for Dancing workshop will be followed by further occasional workshops and an ongoing New Haven klezmer Khevrisa (study group) for musicians interested in delving deeply into European and American klezmer idioms.
